A new contemporary boutique-style country guest house that resides in the three valleys of Underbarrow, Crosthwaite, and Lyth. A unique destination for the discerning guest who wish to relax, chill out and enjoy those special times away from it all. A very warm welcome is assured to our entire guest with an experience to treasure always.
Tranquillity is assured with uninterrupted views to the East, West, North and South. Our lounge faces west with a panoramic bay window it reveals Cartmel fell, Lyth Valley, then north to Langdales, Kentmere, finally south towards Morecambe Bay and Whitbarrow.
Reception rooms: the entrance hall is decorated in a modern contempory style with pastel colours, the occasional antique, ash flooring and rugs, a beautiful ash stair case and minstrel gallery.
Our lounge has a 6-metre panoramic bay window which simply take your breath away, offering views to the north south and west, plus a large open log fire to make guest feel at home.
The guest lounge is a perfect place to watch the sun set over the valley or to take breakfast in the ambience of one of those special days. Our guest lounge leads on to a large sun terrace which is ideal for alfresco breakfast, weather permitting, on those lazy hazy days of summer one can sit enjoy a drink and watch the sun set magnificently over the distant fells. The terrace leads down to the lawn and the pond area with its very own water well beyond the garden is simply open country side with many relaxing not taxing walks or strolls, possibly to the local pub!
Our large ensuite bedrooms both on ground floor and upstairs, all with breath taking views. The Cartmel room has a unique egg bath situated in the bedroom plus a walk-in en suite shower room individually designed with beautiful linen to create a modern contemporary feel. There is a choice of king-size 4-posters, Sleigh or French style beds. All have flat-screen TV, tea & coffee facilities and bottled water.
The spacious bathrooms with heated floors, and soft background music displaying large baths with a choice of separate walk-in showers one to include steam shower, one with body wash and 2 with rain showers. Luxurious robes and soft towels accompanied by an array of organic toiletries to pamper one self at the end of a perfect day and the start of a wonderful evening.
Dining room: is situated at the South of the house has soft romantic lighting it creates its own atmosphere for an intimate dinner party.
Our aim is to create a luxurious, tranquil and romantic setting. Tranquility is also a unique venue for your house party with friends or relations.
However should you wish to bring you own favourite tipple please do so .We are able to offer you dinner on one of the evenings. Should you wish we can arrange a dining out experience, we could come too, at one of the many establishments to suite all pockets in the three valleys.

Quickest route, from jct 36 M6 follow A590/591 to South Kendal exit, follow general signs to Kendal. Go straight through first set of traffic lights, Kendal College, on to one way system to the first set of lights at a pedestrian crossing. Take the next turning left, Gillinggate, go up the hill to left turn signed for Brigsteer follow country road for 3 miles and you will pass the Wheatsheaf pub on left. Stop here for pre-arranged meet and greet or continue 1 mile to unmarked country lane on right, follow lane to second house on left.
Scenic route, take jct 36 off the M6, head towards Kendal on the A591. Take the first exit off the A591 towards Barrow. At the roundabout take the first exit towards Barrow on the A590, after approx 1 mile turn right towards Bowness and Windermere onto the A5074. After approx 2 miles, take the hairpin right turn into Crosthwaite village, go straight through the village to Underbarrow and take the first right at the T junction turn right again then take first left onto single track lane then left again at the end. Follow the road to the second house on the left.
