Situated in rural surroundings, on the edge of the village, the cottage is a well equipped, Grade II Listed barn conversion attached to a 17thC longhouse. It comprises a spacious living room of full height to the roof beams and small kitchen and bathroom. With its original timbers, stone walls and flagstones, the building retains its character and a wood-burning stove, pictures and accessories, make it a true home from home. Free wireless internet access is available.
The kitchen has ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, washer/drier and a full complement of pans and utensils. The gallery bedroom with double bed enjoys scenic views across the picturesque Lyth Valley to the Lakeland fells. Outside there is ample parking space, a garden with dry stone walls, teak furniture, barbecue and clothes drying area.
Levens is a quiet, friendly village with churches, post office, village store, pubs and nearby restaurants. It has many times been voted Best Kept Village in Cumbria and is the perfect base for exploring the Lakes and Dales as all the main access routes intersect nearby.
Primarily intended for two, the accommodation will sleep four but should be considered inappropriate for two couples 'who wish to remain friends'.
